Hi there,

Just curious to see who still uses the "last seen" option on Whatsapp and if not, can you possibly post a reason as to why you turned it off.

Meh turn it off very rarely, mostly because I can read the message without going into the app so they wouldn't see I was active anyway.

I don't use it nor the delivery reports option.
Reason is I hate being pested by someone that I'm not in the mood to converse with.
An invisible option would be good as well. I am generally bothered by some folks as soon as it displays I'm online.
I don't need that to be honest. It seems people stalk you until you can talk, or when they think you can talk.

I leave mine on. Firstly, it's convenient for me to see when people like my mother was last on her phone (for safety reasons) as well as my boyfriend as we don't live together and it helps me gauge that he's at least okay especially if he is driving to/from work and I see he was online. It just gives me piece of mind that he is probably okay (I know whatsapp online/last seen can be off) if he was able to still send a quick text. I guess I'm just paranoid about my loved one's safety. Especially my parents as they are old and not street smart.

Secondly, I don't care if people see I was online and did not reply. The people who matter, knows I will reply WHEN and IF I can. Me and my boyfriend knows if there is a emergency, you call. Whatsapp is not for emergencies. If someone urgently needs me, they can call.

I see no reason to have it off same reason I have leave read receipts on, if you online and you do not respond to me , you must have a good reason - It's not my issue or business the reason why.

It is useful if you want to check if someone still uses WhatsApp or if they away for a weekend. So if it is Sunday and the person was last seen on Friday, I will only message them in the week.
And if it is last seen like a month ago, they live in poverty, is dead or abandoned their whatsapp.

Why did you switch yours off @awvince ?

I deliberately leave last seen and blue ticks on. People must know when I’m ignoring them.

I didn't even know you could turn it off LOL, but I agree, my phone my rules lump it if you don't like it.
