Who still uses "last seen' option on Whatsapp?

It's a necessity though. I have a few colleagues who've tried to move work from email to WhatsApp. I don't know why people think like this. I deliberately ignore any work requests that come via WhatsApp (I have a perfectly functional work email address for this). When they ask why I haven't done anything I just say that my workflow doesn't always catch requests via WhatsApp. The blue tick is necessary for them to know I'm lying to them.

Having conversations via email is just so damn painful and an outdated method of communication. Sure, for final documentation and letters it is helpful.

But I agree there should be two different platforms to keep work and personal time separate. Also you need something for work that can easily be recorded for example Vault for Gsuite.

Work colleagues have my Nokia 3310 (2106) cell nr, it has no whatsapp active, so no issues that way.

I leave mine on. Firstly, it's convenient for me to see when people like my mother was last on her phone (for safety reasons) as well as my boyfriend as we don't live together and it helps me gauge that he's at least okay especially if he is driving to/from work and I see he was online. It just gives me piece of mind that he is probably okay (I know whatsapp online/last seen can be off) if he was able to still send a quick text. I guess I'm just paranoid about my loved one's safety. Especially my parents as they are old and not street smart.

Secondly, I don't care if people see I was online and did not reply. The people who matter, knows I will reply WHEN and IF I can. Me and my boyfriend knows if there is a emergency, you call. Whatsapp is not for emergencies. If someone urgently needs me, they can call.

Also instead of using the feature to catch people I use it to see if I should message them now. I pester people less because of it.

I disabled this feature about 5-6 years ago and haven't had it on again. Mostly due to work purposes.

I see no reason to have it off same reason I have leave read receipts on, if you online and you do not respond to me , you must have a good reason - It's not my issue or business the reason why.
