Who to contact - @intekom.co.za email redirect?

Okay, so it's not exactly a broadband issue but we are struggling to assist a client in getting their @intekom.co.za email address to redirect permanently to their new domain-based email address.

They don't want two email accounts in Outlook, just one.

After many hour-long run-arounds, we came to the conclusion that nobody at Telkom telephonic support seem to know what an email redirect is! Any ideas what we should do or who to contact?

Thanks MickeyD, hopefully @ranger can assist?

Some more info:

We finally got through to someone with regard to the redirect. They say this has now been done.
However, it's not working. Well, not for me or apparently anyone off the internal Telkom network ;)

If I send the client an email address to their @intekom.co.za address it still goes to that email address and does not redirect. However, when the technical um "specialist" tested from their server, it does redirect to the intended new domain email.

Go figure. I'm guessing a big c0ck up on their system somewhere with regard to email redirects for @intekom.co.za email addresses.

I'm now investigating an alternative by using Gmail as an intermediary to redirect the mail. Would be much better if Telkom could actually do this properly though.

Got to webmail.intekom.com (redirects to https://webmail.telkomsa.net ), log in with the email address and password, somewhere under mail settings you can enable email forwarding.

Please don't confuse Telkom and the outsourcing company that provides the call answering service for 10210.

(Of course,Telkom Internet also offers email domains with an admin interface where the accouny holder canvreate additional mailboxes, but it is well hidden on the website and I don't think the call answering service knows about it.)

Options, choose mail on the left, it should look like this:

527341c4a5bc771cb41a8c61d8615103.jpg

Fill in the "forward a copy to", test it, if it works, check the box for "don't keep a local copy of messages".

If it is set correctly and email's don't arrive at the address they are forwarded to, PM me the @telkomsa.net email address you are trying to set up and I will ask someone to have a look.

I logged into the system just fine. I also located the setup for this and confirm that the correct email address was in there. But it did not fwd the email on.

I confirmed that the "Send auto reply message" is working. I also confirm that the "Send a notification message to:" system is working. I sent this to my own email addy.

But the fwd is not working. I'll PM you the details.

@Ranger

Not sure if you got my PM with details? The system has the correct information to fwd the email but it's not working. As suggested, I've sent more details via a PM.
