Why cant I vote tomorrow? (10th of Dec)

Municipal ward by-elections scheduled for 10 December 2008

Municipal ward by-elections will take place on Wednesday, 10 December 2008 in the Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Northern Cape and the Western Cape.

The Electoral Commission confirmed that 159 candidates will contest 41 vacant wards of whom 29 are independent candidates while the other 130 represent 23 political parties.

The bs cheap ASP (cant cross browser program) IEC website informs me that that there are municipal ward by-elections tomorrow.. but the Eastern Cape is not listed there.

Whats up with that?

Maybe there are no by-elections in the Eastern Cape ?

Did any elected ANC persons move to COPE in that region ?

Ward by-elections only take place in wards where the original representative is no longer available - this could be due to death, illness, resignation or expulsion from the party that won the election originally.
