Before anyone says this belongs in the Off Topic section here me out....

Everyday on the news we here about unfair discrimination towards white people.....and most of the time the white person replies by saying "How would the blacks react towards this if it was only whites who could apply...for whatever....)

So my Question is this.....

Why can't we as whites stand our ground united against these "unfair Discrimination"? Why should we continue to bank with Nedbank and to watch Media24? Why can't we boycot all these firms who turn their backs on Equality?

I love South Africa with my all, but seeing how this Affirmative Action is affecting us, and not only whites but people of colour too, is really upsetting and also unfair beyond any reasonable doubt....

Why must we take this kind of treatment.....why can't we as unfairly treated citizens also go Toi Toi in front of the Goverment building?

The organizations know that it's the middle and upper class who keeps them alive....as soon as they realise the turn in events they will sing a different tune real quickly.

I for one support Equality and looking at our current situation I would say it's anything but that....Just save all the job applicants the time and effort and say "Your too white"....

It's pathetic and also really amazing how we as the white population of South Africa just accept the facts and do NOTHING about the way we are being discriminated against.

I believe that an uprising like the Soweto uprising would quickly turn this country around into a Equal Country....not a black or white one but a TRULY RAINBOW NATION....

Well I’m an American but I think this is a universal thing; my opinion is that white people would rather destroy themselves than help each other out. Whites are too divided for their own good and are not united at all. It’s really kind of sad.

Maybe, but every time a white person speaks for what’s better for whites he or she is called a racist, and being seen as a racist in Western countries ruins your credibility. Pretty soon here in America and Western Europe whites will be a minority in their own countries and if you say anything… you’re a racist/supremacist/bigot/neo-Nazi/redneck etc and it will be your own people calling you this!

Get used to it friend. It is what it is and will not change - ever! It is the way of Africa. The good news is that you will still be able to get by in the future although not with much. South Africa will continue to experience decay just like the rest of Africa. Either move away or stay and live under terms that are not perfect.

Just think it could be worse, you could be living in Zimbabwe!

Now why would I want to waste mine or my families time toi-toi'ing when I should be out there earning a living. Discrimination or not, I am doing alright - you have to get your priorities in order and get focussed. Put on blinkers if it helps, but don't let the bad attitudes out there dictate your lot in life. Not to say that everyone has an easy time, but if I don't look after my family and my attitude, I don't believe there are too many others who will... and I believe there is enough work out there for those willing to work... just do the right thing and don't let the attitude of the day ruin yours.

No - not poor, just in debt like the white people who drive around in cars I cannot afford. It's pretty obvious.

See, that's the 'white peoples' problem - we just look after ourselves & screw the rest. You're not worried & don't react to the fact that a lot of people are getting murdered around you, hey, as long as you're ok. But as soon as the other people round you are dead, they'll come for you & your family.

Your attitude will be our end.

*It was only when the Voortrekkers realised that they all gonna get murdered, that they stood together - and look what they achieved.

White people unfortunately have a proven history of racism. No matter what we do now, it'll stay on the history books, and that's where anyone looks who wants an argument.

Preconceptions are our enemy. We now have to give up so many of our own rights and views that it's becoming ridiculous. Colonial europe has made us persona non grata in the countries of our birth.

The right to own shares in certain companies on the same terms as other people, the right to apply for employment free from discrimination on racial grounds, same when your company applies for government tenders etc, the right to safety and security. I'm sure you get the idea.

I'm not against EQUILism . meaning white/black/coloured/indian/japanese/chinese. Whichever.. Were suppose to be equil. That means, equil as a person *meaning if we walk past eachother we can greet someone with respect*, equil in religion *meaning you can have your own religion, and i will respect your choice, and u will respect mine*, Equil rights *meaning if one crime, same punishment, also if a person of any colour/race must have the same rights by law*, Equil in chance *meaning if any person applies for a job, only be recognized for the qualifications and experience for that job*

In SA were all suppose to be Equils. By colour/race/religion.

But somehow, most company's have a Black Empowerment act, or even choose you only on you skin colour..

If were equil, why do some people get jobs for their skin colour alone...
Thats reversed racism.

Previously yes, whites had the high-end jobs.
Today the roles are reversed.. but were suppose to be equil...

The right in applying for a job as equals, not as too white or overclassified. What happened to loking after the future of South Africa rather than the majority? A country that basis it's acceptance of a job applicant on race rather than skills are a racist country....end of discussion. Where else in the world have you seen correcting the wrong from the past taking 13 years....America didn't even spend more than 3 years looking after Hiroshima....and they nuked the people!

Get used to being a minority and all that entails.

EDIT - Eventually things should stabilise but even then there's no reason to expect that white people should get more jobs based solely on skin colour.

Every single African nation has a racist past. Every tribal/ethnic war that ever took place had racist implications. Don't pigeon hole whites as racists mate - it is a human condition and used extremely efficiently by African leaders for many many generations.

Mmm. In the US the minorities are protected from being subjected to discrimination based on race and belief. Quite a sensitive issue in America right now. Before I get flamed, I am not suggesting that there is no racism in America.
