Why can't we buy data/airtime from an internet banking site if we've run out?

MTN gives you points for each transaction that you can use to buy air time with. It comes in handy in a pinch

Capitec has a free USSD number that you can use just for buying airtime as their banking USSD number costs airtime.

Dial *120*3279# to access this service. If you're out of airtime, simply dial *130*3279# free of charge to top up your cellphone!

So *130*3279# is free to use

There is still no way to buy data/airtime if you've run out. What if you're in an emergency situation?

No sorry we're Vodacom/MTN/Cell C and we refuse to make anyone's life easier, even if it means increased sales for us.

You have to physically go to a shop and buy.

Why not open up access to the major banking sites in SA so people can buy data/airtime to use on YOUR NETWORK. Think a little. Innovate.

Umm there are plenty of ways of buying data/ Airtime even without Data / airtime The MTNZA app allows me to buy data and USSD doesnt cost anything.

You should rephrase your complaint, you just want banking sites to Data be zero rated, by using purchasing of Data/Airtime as your argument they have the counter argument that you can purchase as I mentioned above.
