Why CellC sucks and you should avoid them like the plague

I have a CellC contract (with a month to go thank God) with a account limit of R1200. Last month I loaded a 3GB Data bundle and 200SMS bundle so that when my account inevitably becomes soft locked I could still use my phone. Or so I thought.

The reality:
1. I could not use my DATA BUNDLE (PAID FOR ON THE INVOICE) because I set a soft lock on my account to not incur uncontrolled costs
2. I could not use my SMS BUNDLE (PAID FOR ON THE INVOICE) because I set a soft lock on my account to not incur uncontrolled costs
3. Cell C will not refund me for the DATA I could not use
4. Cell C will not refund me for the SMS I could not use
5. Cell C will not carry over the 400MB unused DATA (PAID FOR) so I can use it this month
6. Cell C will not carry over the 198 unused SMS (PAID FOR) so I can use it this month

You can't set individual limits on data, sms, voice. You can't load bundles as they simply get overridden by the soft lock.

Cell C sucks.

That's unfortunately true of the other two big networks. When they lock you for exceeding a limit the phone becomes unusable for outgoing services.

The only way around it is to up the limit temporarily

I have. Spoke to Derrick Makhubele (smsupport) who confirmed everything I said above.

This. You don't know what a soft lock means?
