HI I am looking for a car i think does not exist?

Basically a cheap flat economical, non-4x4 double cab.

Or rather a NP200, corsa double cab bakkie.

Need the double cab for space for family wife and kid, need the load bay for the dogs and camping stuff.

Dont want fuel economy and spec of old double cabs, New double cabs have spec and econmy but I am not paying R300 000 for that.

I have tried station wagons, and like em, but the dogs are still wet and sandy from the beach and want them in their own sperate bay.

I shop 2nd hand in the R150 -R200k bracket. I like spec in cars. I had the 1.8 corsa utilty sport, then 1.4 Rio Tec, then VW 2.0 Tdi Touran DSG, and now Hyundai Elantra.

happy with Elantra huge boot, but not ideal for dogs.

I drive to Windhoek once a year, and camp with dogs 3x per year.

Any suggestiosn or upcoming models.
I think A corsa Utilty double cab will be cool or maybe a cheaper double cab option from Hyundai or Kia?

Scared of Tata and GWM but thats what they sad of Hyundai way back wehn and look now.

Thanks for any feedback?

If you want the space, economy and spec of a R300k double cab, then buy one. If you're intent on sticking to your price range, then your expectations on those three things need to change in line with what you can afford.

How about a used double cab? Will be older than a touran or something like that but it will be what you want

How about a hosepipe and a towel for the dogs? :whistling:

But seriously, what you want doesn't exist for cheap. Cars have gotten very expensive in recent years. Even entry level mini cars are close to R200k.

Subaru Forester, with the rubber lining for the boot, and a cargo net to make sure the pooches stay put...
