Why is Africa underdeveloped?

I recently watched a number of programs on tv that raised a few questions.

Why is it that European nations,the U.S or rather simply put nations in the west seem to be ages ahead of countries in africa, asia and south America?

What Impedes the development of states in the aforementioned continents?

Can and will countries such as the central African republic,Guatemala and Somalia ever really develop and how can such development come about?

There are examples of countries in the east I believe that have developed rapidly in a short space of time, if they can do it seriously what is stopping other countries from attaining the same growth?

South africa is in my opinion developed in relation to the countries I have mentioned, not to say we do not have our problems aswell.

My Question However is why can't countries like Somalia gain some sort of sustainable development?

The problem with Orcs is that while you absolutely reject Civilization, you don't own your decision. It's always someone else's fault that you are poor, hungry and without the finer things in life. No, the chains are not oppression as civilised people see them, the chains are the expectation of civil behaviour. You want to roam free and use physical strength to take what you want. You yearn for the old days before whites came with their strange ideas.

Because the people in power are greedy. Look at South Korea and Japan 100years ago, then look at them now. The leaders made a choice to focus on education and uplift the people.

In Africa leaders prefer to have fire pools and uneducated masses.

Development is overrated. I read something an American Indian wrote recently. Basically the colonists asked why won't they develop like the Europeans?

Not sure why you're posing the question to me. seems like I've offended you somehow to call me an Orc. Please elaborate why you calling me an Orc. Maybe we have different understandings of what an Orc is.

An Orc is a personality type. The defining characteristic is the rejection of Civilization. By your own words, you have defined yourself as an Orc.

I made one statement that development is overrated. The other statement was something I read.

I stated that many people focus primarily on development. The problem I think is that ppl want to develop from one state to another because they are unhappy with what they have. That's basically what I meant.

Your assertion that development is only as a result of unhappiness is a logical fallacy. Development is the result of people wanting to seek new experiences, seek new knowledge or just to protect themselves from outside agencies that would use force to conscript their labour, steal their goods or for nothing more than malicious harm.

Development happens because we are human beings, not animals that are content to eat, sleep and fornicate. You would reduce us to nothing more than the barest existence. Is this something you desire for yourself? Is this something you desire for everyone else? If either is true, then you, sir, are an Orc.
