Let me preface this by saying that for the last twelve months the WTA tour has been incredibly competitive, and the 2025 AO final was proof of that, especially compared to the men’s lacklustre final (in my opinion) and the social media engagement and numbers in the crowd proved that.
With that said, DSTV has consistently been snubbing the WTA tournaments this year. They opted to air reruns of the AO matches instead of the two 1000 tournaments during the Middle Eastern swing (Doha and Dubai) and then aired the men’s Dubai and Doha matches after.
Now, Indian Wells is currently on but only the ATP matches. Worse even, they’ve basically dedicated two channels (201 and 214) to the ATP matches. What’s going on? And is this what we have to look forward to for the rest of the year?
