Why it’s not so easy to get a free smoothie with Discovery’s new rewards system

#firstworld problems,

you get what you pay for, or not, just like Ebucks,
if you spend lots at FNB, you get more rewards, nothing is truly "free"

just like those casino cards, yes if your a heavy gambler, you get "comps"
but if you visit once every 6 months, what benefit is there to the Casino?

seems Discovery is tightening its restrictions a lot.

Under the previous scheme, meeting even a single goal in a day would easily have earned enough points to score a free smoothie or coffee (25 reward points).
With the new system, however, a free coffee (150 Discovery Miles) and a free Smoothie (250 Discovery Miles) are not on the same tier.
The smoothie reward requirement has increased 10 times (25 Reward Points to 250 Discovery Miles), while the coffee reward requirement has only increased six times.
This is an error. Smoothie reward required 40 points in 2019. 6 times 40 = 240 which is closed to the 250 Miles we require now.

"Previously, a single play on the board would have scored enough points for a member to get a free smoothie as a reward for meeting their daily goal."

This is incorrect. A smoothly previously cost 40 points and the minimum play was 25 points. So basically two plays ensured a free smoothy, not a single play.

Also, it is a weekly goal, not daily.

"The smoothie reward requirement has increased 10 times (25 Reward Points to 250 Discovery Miles), while the coffee reward requirement has only increased six times."

Also incorrect. A smoothy was 40 points, not 25.

It is amazing how many people bitch and moan about these things like they are being robbed blind  If you are basing banking, insurance, etc. choices on awards you have your priorities wrong.
