Because scumral is trying to get the first conviction for 'refusal to pay e-tolls'. They are not interested in the fraud charges or even the number plate charges. They are gunning the refusal to pay e-toll charges, which will set the first prosecution, and the rest will follow.

I will not be surprised if sanral offers a plea agreement to let all fraud charges (which could be direct imprisonment) disappear if he pleas guilty on refusal to pay e-toll fees.

They are basically manipulating the legal system to bend it to their favour!

Because the ANC is one corrupt organisation looking after its "brothers".

No wonder South Africans have no respect for Zuma, ANC and the rules of this country! When in Rome, do as the ROmans do!

That's not respect, more like Stockholm syndrome (where the abused form a kind of empathy/dependency on the abuser)

That last sentence:
Just because bad examples are set by high-ranking officials who subsequently get away with it does not mean that anyone else should follow that example and expect to be similarly favoured.

Governance and ethics starts at the top. If your leadership is ethically corrupt, then all subs will follow suite.

No person can refuse to pay something for which they have not been billed in the first place and in light of the fact that someone else was billed due to the falsification of number plates, it is safe to say that Dr Stoychev was never billed and therefore could not have ‘refused to pay e-tolls’.”

As convoluted as that sounds, it makes total sense
