I have lived in SA (from the UK) for about 10 years, and I really enjoy living here. SA people are generally friendly and it is a nice quality of life for me at least. I think everybodys situation is different of course.

My main reason for leaving would be based on the crime and the barbaric nature of it. Also if I were looking for another job I would probably go back overseas as there really isnt any decent opportunies for me here because of AA.

The more we moan the more people will become aware of what is going wrong and hopefully a vote or two will be changed.

Apartheid would still have existed if people accepted it without moaning and just left the country.

I am sick of this country, sick of its corruption, rot, decay and sick of moaning about it too. I am leaving soon. On my way to OZ. I feel for the poor people who cannot leave. It has cost me a fortune to move and still it is not over.

The sad part is that, once you're over in that SA Colony in Aus, you'll devour every little bit of news about SA.

If you come across negative news , you'll jump up and down and shout "I told you so".

It is entirely your choice to leave and hope all goes well for you there, but at least have the balls to try and integrate yourself in your adopted country.

To the OP: The reason why people do not all leave, but complain about the situation, is very simply because they have the right to do so. If we do not complain or criticise the government, they may very well think they are doing an excellent job. Parting with your hard-earned money gives you certain rights.

Do you think Apartheid would've ended if nothing was done IRL? No [-]freedom fighters[/-] terrorists, etc.?

Read my post again and then try to come up with an intelligent response. Obviously the [-]terrorists[/-] freedom fighters played their role but ultimately SA changed because the voters (at that stage) did the right thing.

My point is that it took IRL doings to reform South Africa.

Actually I AM going but I dont need to justify it to you or anyone else for that matter. ;)
I was and still would like to buy a business. Is that a crime? Have you ever heard of a business owner living abroad?
As I stated, if you bothered to read, my skills assessment was approved 2 days ago.
Something that was expected to take months.
