Why Novatel HSDPA flashes red or blue during use?

Just got one of Voda's last (unlocked!) Novatel HSDPA cards, working fine with both Voda and other SIMs. Simple question for anyone out there: why in a 3G/HSDPA area does its control light keep changing for no apparent reason between blue and red even though the Windows connection icon keeps saying consistently that access is at 1.8 Mbps (i.e. HSDPA). Just curious....

There was an issue with the led's on the U740. Their is a firmware upgrade which corrects this. See this thread.
