I don’t know why the SAHRC and some odd celebrity is mounting the pressure. Eben Etzebeth has complied with the police and his legal team has continued the engagements whilst he is on Springbok, or national, duty. He even allowed DNA testing…

The SAHRC can wait, but it seems that they want to pressure the Equality Court in ordering SARU to return Etzebeth to SA. Say he has to return, and Etzebeth is ruled to be innocent, then they, the SAHRC, hampered us at the Rugby World Cup.

It is no secret that the Etzebeths are known to be aggressors, they have a history and many older club rugby people can elaborate on that, but every town has their ‘people’. I doubt that Etzebeth would be a racist, this guy gives more hugs and kisses to black and coloured people in a single rugby match than most white people do since the day they were born and he does so with a very happy expression.

Then there is the West Coast, there are some inhabitants there who like to stir up a hornet's nest. From my PoV it looks like a payday opportunity, and now they are milking it as much as possible.

Peter de Villiers is sour because Etzebeth is Allister Coetzee's prodigy. Jealousy...

ANC councillor suspended for bringing party into disrepute

The ANC in the Western Cape has suspended its councillor in the Berg River Municipality on the West Coast, Sammy Claassen.

The ANC in the Western Cape has suspended its councillor in the Berg River Municipality on the West Coast, Sammy Claassen, for allegedly bringing the party into disrepute, the SABC reported.

Claassen allegedly accused the party's acting chairperson, Khaya Magaxa, of using a derogatory and racist word to refer to coloured people during the ANC conference of the West Coast on August 25 and 26. He will also be hauled before a disciplinary committee.


Claassen has described his suspension as a "ridiculous and shameful action by a desperate ANC".

ANC provincial secretary Faiez Jacobs said the party had established that the alleged derogatory remarks were never made.

“We have engaged with our leadership of the West Coast region who were present at the regional conference and have gathered four affidavits which confirm that these statements were never made.
