Why South Africa should cut taxes in 2023

South Africa can generate more tax revenue by lowering taxes, which will create additional wealth and stimulate the economy. It may sound counter-intuitive that more tax revenue can be collected through lower taxes, but it has been proven to work in many cases. A good tax system requires the efficient and cost-effective collection of money … <a href="https://businesstech.co.za/news/business-opinion/656117/why-south-africa-should-cut-taxes-in-2023/" class="more-link">Continue reading<span class="screen-reader-text"> "Why South Africa should cut taxes in 2023"</span></a>

There’s plenty of evidence that tax cuts for the upper income earners are not beneficial to the economy, but those for lower incomes can sometimes be beneficial. Of course Sowell wouldn’t usually support that sort of thing, because he is a shill for the rich who makes a lot of wild claims, but doesn’t actually produce much proper research. He is an advocate for the repeatedly failed trickle down hypothesis.

Actually, Sowell is the opposite. If anything, he's very much a "trickle-up" economist. He famously published a paper many years ago the substance of which is that trickle-down economic theory doesn't exist, that there's no such thing, and that be certainly doesn't support such a bizarre theory. He amply shows that the label "trickle-down" economic theory is invented by statists-collectivists who love a large centralised state.

Actually higher rates on the rich leads to higher avoidance and emigration (financial or otherwise) in the extreme case. On the lower classes it leads to lower spending.

It's hardly being a shill for the rich. The ones making a kak load of money also have the means to avoid paying tax and move their assets if they need to.

Lower rates benefits the majority by giving them more room to spend...

Abolish taxes on all things renewable energy
Import, sales tax etc
anc if you serious about the electricity crisis then you would have done this but it seems you want to break the economy in your boiling pot.

Yes, stimulate the economy and bring back measures to facilitate new business and small business.

I cannot believe that any nation, reasoning on its own rights, would have thought of calling these things a constitution, if the cry of constitution had not been set up by the government. It has got into circulation like the words bore and quoz [quiz], by being chalked up in the speeches of parliament, as those words were on window shutters and doorposts; but whatever the constitution may be in other respects, it has undoubtedly been the most productive machine of taxation that was ever invented.

As soon as I saw Thomas Sowell mentioned I stopped reading. He’s an ideology driven crackpot.
Speaking of ideology driven crackpots.. The ANC could not even ensure enough electricity for the country despite being warned about & the full might of one of the strongest economies in Africa. One might even think that world IQ chart is accurate..
