why such a big price difference between Afrihost and Mweb uncappped?

So im currently on a MWEB 2mbps premium uncapped account....i have had no problems with it but i was browsing the other day and for the same as i pay for this 2mbps account (with telkom charges) i can get a 4mbps uncapped account from Afrihost?

4mbps uncapped with MWEB is R899
4mbps with Afrihost is R697


R200 difference is for what? Does Afrihost apply restrictions that MWEB does not? is it on an inferior network?

i mostly use my uncapped for online TV, youtube, gaming etc..I'm not a heavy downloader so moving up to a 4mbps line from a 2mbps line with a very small price increase makes sense if the only thing that differs is "i cant download torrents during the day" because i dont care much for that anyway.

If anyone could shed light that would be fantastic.

Strangely enough, Afrihost has almost no restrictions, and Afrihost's network in my opinion is far Superior than Mweb's

Afrihost subsidises the ADSL line-rental, and also pops a discount on the ADSL account.
As to performance, I grabbed a torrent during business hours and it went at full-speed. It runs pretty much unshaped if you a)don't rape the account and b)if the network isn't under heavy load.

Just to touch on how our network runs briefly, our Home Uncapped accounts are shaped according to the IPC usage in your particular region. Realtime services like VoIP, streaming etc are never shaped - non-essential protocols like torrents are shaped should there be high demand on our IPC.

Business Uncapped and our Capped accounts are never shaped :)

That's no lie, I was on the Mweb 4MB premium account, for the same price I am now on the 4MB Business Uncapped account at Afrihost. Except for a few small issues that remain unresolved (slow sites like www.supersport.com), the Afrihost account operates extremely well. Account is never shaped, fantastic speeds 24/7.

Do yourself a favour, switch, Mweb are not worth it.

Yes Afrihost's network is pretty good, but how about their support? I mean MWEB Guy on FB is quite good.

Cant you get FB support too? There is no way im signing up to goddamn twitter...and to navigate the forums on a J2ME phone is pretty difficult.

FB is perfect for this phone.
