Why the reopening of SA schools was postponed

Department of Basic Education (DBE) Minister Angie Motshekga has apologised for delaying her address to the public, as well as her late postponement of the return to schools of students from 1 June until 8 June.

Motshekga said that following the presentation of three reports which showed that schools were not ready to reopen, she spent Sunday consulting with key stakeholders.

Schools in WC opened today....we're not going to get dragged down to the level of the rest.

DBE will not resolve 20 years of issues in the last 4 weeks...or in one more week.

Muppets....

The one small silver lining on this whole catastrophe is that those who really love and care for their children will come to realise just how toxic education by the State is, and make their own independent plans and get their kids out of the firing line. This requires great sacrifice and struggle, but it's worth it for the sake of the kids.

You're thinking too highly of those parents...or expecting too much of their ability to realize things...

These ass clowns have had 26 years to build schools and uplift the lives of those of us who have been previously disadvantaged.
Instead of getting education right, you know the basic, their number three priority was to ensure that child support grants aka guaranteed future votes are paid

Priorities 1 and 2 are Corruption and ensuring a spot at the gravy trough

Did the mampara not consult with them before she made her royal decree in the first place?

I've sat in the equivalent meetings with some SOE clients.
We are holding a meeting to make the final planning for the coming weekend's data center move.
Facilities is adamant that they will be ready in 4 days. They just need to install the lights, doors, backup generator, extractor for the generator, brick up a outside door and rewire the power supply from the mains.
Did I mention they'd been working on the project for 4 months?

3 weeks later we moved the datacenter. They still need to brick up the old door.

The presentation she was in was most likely along the same lines.

I certainly don't think it's a majority. Perhaps 5% today, growing to 10-15% over the next decade or so... They are the future. The rest will never amount to much and lapse into mediocrity, sucking off the State teat, which will in any case run dry as certainly as night follows day.

Why? SADTU members are lazy and are enjoying their paid holidays. Why the F would they come back to work if they can continue sitting on their backsides and getting paid for it?

Why?
The Answer is INCOMPETENCE.
Now when can I expect my prize?
I thank the lucky stars that I do not have any kids in the system anymore! ( Private or State does not matter, the system interferes across the board) My heart goes out to all out there who do have to deal with this corrut and incompetent bunch.

Most private schools opened yesterday. My son's school got tired of spending money to prepare and opened.
