Hi, my problem is as follows, can anyone please assist:
I have a Telkom ADSL line and Siemens GIGA762SX router that I purchased at Telkom. Telkom is my service provider. I am battling to connect via Wi Fi. My one laptop runs Windows XP, the other one Windows 7.

The one which runs XP does not connect at all, althought I do connect to other wireless networks, so I reckon the problem must be with the router. This laptop sees my router, shows it is connected, shows X amount of packets being send and received, but nothing happens, I cant open any web page. It is as if the data flows, but nothing happens.

The laptop with Windows 7 also sees the router, but shows no internet access. I managed to connect, but only setting up a broadband connection with my username and password. So far I understand, this should not be like that. So now I first have to connect to the router, then connect again using my username/password.

My desktop is connected throught a LAN cable to the router. I must also connect using a username and password. When I connect my desktop it works fine, but connecting any other PC wirelessly does not work.

Further, when I check the settings on my router (basic setup wizard, internet connection) it shows under username: guest@telkomadsl. Surely this can not be right, it should be my username. When I phone Telkom, the one is as useless as the other. I am truely up in arms.

Thanks for any help.

Put abovementioned settings into the router \/

You are then the lucky one. I have the manual and it is not helping me too much. I have the same problems that louross is having, except that it is my cellphone that is giving me the problem with being connected but not doing anything

Have you got any suggestions from the manual that may help?

Hey,

I have a simmilar problem - I want to connect my internet which is (Satellite connection type) to the same router.
If I take the RJ-45 connector and connect it to my Computer directly - internet works fine.(no username or password) neccessary. But now I want to know how to configure my router to share it through wireless. I tried connecting it through the ADSL - I then connected it to the WAN port (4) and my computer with another cable to port (1). INTERNET WORKS, BUT now how do I get that internet through to all my wireless devices.

Please help would be appreciated
