...you don't say. But not everyone wants wires running around their house, or they don't know enough about it.
WiFi is simply easier. TBH I've only heard people complain about poor upload/download speed and not WiFi being an issue.

I've definitely noticed that a manky old lan cable delivers way more consistent ping than WiFi. So now I run a naked lan cable across the floor in my lounge, because scores matter.

I threw away all my network cables, crimping tools and cat5 cables thinking I would never need it. Now my wifi is acting up and I have to go buy a 20 meter cable or get another solution. Ugh.

Would like to know whether Wifi 6 will perform better/similar or worse than gigabit ethernet?

Got RAIN 5G, with Wi-Fi 6, my laptop would not connect - scoured the internet for a week, then following up on a reference to a "deprecated" Intel driver, for the Wi-Fi chip in my ancient Lenovo G50-80 laptop, I found the well hidden driver on Intels site. Not only was my laptop connecting to the router via Wi-Fi, I was getting an unheard of 300 - 320 Mbps down loads.
