So i've got this old ADSL router that we use as a bridge and i since for one of the other routers i changed the antennae to a 8db antennae i have a 5db one lying around. Now the adsl one i have came with a small 3db one built in and i figured i'd just change it but things are never easy.

Its built in/non-detachable and after opening up the box i noticed that there is basically just one wire with a side holder going to the antennae. So I'm thinking of cutting it and manually joining it to the detachable antennae but whart i wanted to check was this. Is there 2 wires or just 1? I mean the wire seems too narrow for more than one besides it doesn't look like there is any grounding either.

Anyone know?

Its 2 "wires".
There's a braided shield, and a core.

You need both.
