Hi. I would like to have a wifi hotspot at my business so that customers can access the internet while they are waiting. Can anyone advise me who to go to for this, and also the costs involved. It is a car wash & Valet centre in the basement parking of a mall. I Have emailed telkom a few times with ne response. All help would be appreciated.

Charged or free? If charged, do you want to make a share of the amount or run the billing yourself?

The underground location might make it unattractive to commercial operaters

If the hot spot is going to be free just do it your self with a decent modem/router like the Asus DSL-N55U or similar that you can limit the power and band width and change the guest password daily or weekly.

I want to offer it as a free service to my customers. Upstairs in the centre there are 2 shops that have the telkom mobile wifi hotspots and a few coffee shops that also have wifi hotspots. but I need to get something down here

Also, you might consider hotspotsystem.com they're probably one of the largest providers world wide. Also they have fantastic support, and great support docs, with step by step tutorials - also it's very user friendly, and probably the most features.

We don't use them anymore, we have developed our own system. If you don't come right with Alexdk, feel free to PM me for more info.

PS: Alexdk - you guys site looks fantastic! And your offerings also... Do you do consulting work for WISP's as well? If so, if you don't mind, what have you done in the past? We need another provider for certain stuff (out source) - if you guys will be interested. We run a WISP (2700 clients)

we don't, however if you tell us what your requirements are I am sure we could possibly assist, we have extensive work with wifi both indoor and outdoor and have a pretty great system built
