Wifi ok on laptop but not on mobile devices

Hey.. Had my fibre line repaired on Friday. Its been off for a few weeks as my builders broke the line.

Before the interruption , I had no issue with any device. Now , with identical hardware, my laptops connect to wifi no problem but none of my mobile devices connect - Samsung S8 phone and Apple iPad.

Samsung tries to connects for a while then eventually says "failed to find ip address". Ipad sees the SSID but doesnt even ask for password.

Any ideas ?

Well, obviously something has changed. By the symptoms, it sounds like your WIFI router has been configured to only allow a connection from recognized MAC addresses and that it has your laptop listed as allowed, but nothing else. The exact option used to configure things this way varies from router to router, but the option is usually under either the firewall or local network configuration.

I managed to get the phone on wifi by setting the ip address manually but struggling to do sams on iPad

I did look at the router , there are no exclusions
