Wii Price and Release Date Revealed

$250. 2 December in Japan, but earlier in USA.

Only thing I don't like is that it will ship with just ONE Wiimote and nunchuck, but they will include Wii Sports.

for $250 it's really decent. As long as the games are fun adn etnertaining, it does not need to have super graphics like the PS3.

works out to be around R1900. So I guess we gonna pay around R2500 for it here...hope it lives up to expectations.

Good pricing. Still not convinced by the console and controllre, but the pricing makes it attractive. Will wait and see how it looks and plays before I decide.

I for one, won't be playing "classic" aka crap games on the console. However, I'm fairly certain that the controller is gonna be awesome.

Couldn't care less about Wii Sports. Maybe it'll make a good coaster or frisbee.

I hope Mario64 and Donkey Kong Country will be among the games they make available. Not sure I'd pay R70 though.

We'll have to see how expensive they make it here.

Yeah, awesome at the time, but my opinion on games is that they usually date terribly.

Hopefully Nintendo will do what they did with Ocarina of Time on the GameCube. The game still had a somewhat dated look, but the graphics were upgraded from the N64 version. And a great game like that is still great even if the graphics are not the latest.

BlueCollar : Slashdot is running a piece on the Greatest Games ever Made. There are quite a few N64 games in there. Whilst I have played them before, and as such wouldn't buy them again, I imagine that with this console, Nintendo will reach a much bigger target audience that with their last two consoles. And these people might be very interested to play these games (Even more so if they can puchase them from the living room)

I have a feeling that Nintendo SA is going to miss the Christmas boat though. 2 December for Japan and 19 November for US...no mention of Europe, and we are about 2 weeks behind Europe. So yeah looks like we gona ge it in January or March.

Emailed them a few days ago about this. They said they can only tell me the date after European date announced, but they said between November-February.

Actually imported DS games from Take2 are a lot cheaper than getting games from nintendo.co.za, Im just hoping we get it soon tho.

How many of you guys have DS's and are going to Rage. I really hope I can find someone to play some Mario kart and Metroid Hunters with.

Yeah, the controllers thing was a bit of a bummer...the classic controls are not too bad $20, but I was thinking the Wii is gona be popular im sure third party companies will release peripherals soon like Logitech
