A well orchestrated move is what this was. Now that the cables have been released in their entirety, Wikileaks' image is blown as much as the intelligence officers in the cables. It also serves the purpose of removing much of the leverage Wikileaks originally had. There was absolutely no reason to disclose the password, temporary or not...

Exactly...Planned from the beginning. Things like this aren't done by a mistake. A risky move but their motivation/goal is to make the public look down on Wikileaks and therefore stop the public from supporting them.

By reading some of these replies on here, looks like everything is going according to plan. Big blow to Assange and Wikileaks.

That looks about right.

As for the "innocent people" being harmed - what twaddle. Spies ain't "innocent". The USA has known what could have been compromised for many months now, and to think that Oz would not be told is naive - Oz is so far up the USA's arse it can see daylight again. Information that is freely available down to the level of junior-NCO must be presumed to be pretty well compromised from the start, anyway.

Let it all hang out!

So wiki leaks has Swiss banking details, if they make another 'mistake' it could be catastrophic to private individuals.
