Hi,
Any suggestions on what budget Android phone to go for between the Wileyfox Swift and the Huawei P8 Lite?

They have similar specs: http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/comparison/ae9f48a20

Currently leaning towards the Swift, since it is a bit cheaper and I always like putting my money on the dark horse :)

But, Telkom has a new deal for R139x24(R3336) for the P8 + 1GB/month; the Swift is around R2500 cash.

Any suggestions, feedback or reviews would be appreciated.

I have a Swift.

Big reason for me is it comes with Cyanogen OS, which is the best version of Android out there. No bloatware plus really good security and privacy features (not to mention I can have catface shaped icons :3 )

In terms of battery usage, I get a fair day's usage on one charge.

I have a P8 lite and I am very happy with it. If you can get it on the telkom deal it is a steal, so maybe factor that into the equation.

As for battery life my phone runs out by lunchtime! then again, i do keep Pokemon Go open.... Pre pokemon days my phone lasts a full day.

I would replace you choice of a P8 Lite with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2/Note 3. Both phones are superior in every way to the P8 Lite and Xiaomi are kind enough to dish out monthly MIUI Updates. MIUI has the most customisation options I've come across in a custom skinned Android device. On the Redmi Note 2 I get a day and half usage with average social networking and being connected to WIFI. You should also be considering whether you need dual sim or not.

Rather stay safe

You're better off with a safer option like the P8 lite since you don't sound like an enthusiast at all. :p

The Wileyfox Swift would be best value for money but some people like you who create threads asking which phone to go for (instead of doing some online research) are normally also the kind who freaks out when the phone restarts automatically at times, like right after loading a new theme. Yes the Wileyfox Swift runs on Cyanogen OS which support among other things themes whereas the P8 lite does not. Feel safe and buy the P8 lite with a safer Huawei version of Android OS. :whistling:
