I'll take a 12GB a month usage cap :) thats like 11times better than Telkom!
I like WiMAX it has the ability to become portable with cell phones and WiFi too bad ICASA says No to anything that does not make "SA Gov" rich... :(

If the reported lantency and throughput speeds are anything to go by, I would say they have no hope...

Motorola believe that WiMAX will do for data what GSM did for voice."

Quite a statement, lets hope its true. Seems they're aiming it at the lower end of the market though that doesn't mind low speed and high latency.

He says: "Currently there is close to 400 MHz available for WiMAX in the 2,5 GHz and 3,5 GHz bands. In a unified licence regime frequencies should not be designated to specific technologies. If an operator wants to pay the relevant price for specific spectrum than surely it is that company’s right to use the most appropriate technology as long as it does not interfere with other users of the spectrum. That’s why we must have strong regulators".

If only ICASA would see it that way.
