I've gone my entire life without buying ANY apple device, I see no reason to change that winning pattern now, or ever

... having said that I do own a Macbook Pro these days, but got it cheap as chips 2nd hand and thought I might as well get it for the wife

I don't need or want security updates.. There is nothing to steal.. Maybe a picture or two, or a contact number, or my idle WhatsApp chatter.. They welcome to that.. Who cares!
Ever heard of identity theft? You should care about security updates. You will wish you did when you start getting accounts created in your name and your house sold from under your feet.

So you went your entire life without buying an Apple device, until you bought an Apple device…

I’m pretty sure that’s everyone’s story.

Ghosts are real after all.

Bruh after all those credit bureau leaks the criminals have more than enough to steal someone's identity anyway.

I mean, for the sub R2k price I paid I felt was good enough value
the real question is: will I ever buy another Apple device? I seriously doubt it ...

same, my 6s works, even if I think releasing a phone every year and adding tiny upgrades from last years model
is a pretty poor business model, especially when you build your phones to self destruct slowly, forcing you to upgrade constantly
> Say they build phones to destruct
> Still using a phone from before Trump was elected president.

You are getting good innings IMO. I think most people upgrade because they want to, not because they have to.

Preordered 4 of those Pros for Corporate use.

Nice tax writeoffs.

I need an upgrade from my iPhone 11 but won't get the 16, will probably get a 15 Pro or Pro Max.

I was considering getting the iPhone 16 Pro Max but changed my mind. I think I will ride out 1 more year with my iPhone 13 Pro and possibly upgrade next year. Would like to focus more on shoring up my finances this year.
