I've been getting a little number and flashing 'flying' mail icon for over two years now whenever I receive a new PM, and have recently enabled the option of getting a popup notification whenever I receive a new, as of yet unread PM as well.
Why so complicated? Previously "User CP" icon turned red was unreaded mail. Simple like that. I see no reason why it shouldn't work that way.

The point is that you still get a visual indicator in exactly the same place, so your argument is moot to begin with. You can also click the little mail icon to go straight to your unread messages in stead of having to click User CP -> inbox.

Correct, normally there is notification on the top (orange thread above sticky threads) after openning a section. All I am asking (not you in particular, as you were banned, :) but regular users) whether you saw notification thread.
It is not a matter of winning or not, but constant degradation of user interface. For now I don't even get notification about private messages, as "User CP" is not longer changing colour. So I need to open a button to see if there are new messages.

Ah right, okay cool then. I'd be interested in knowing as well. :)

Wrong, it might be that way when using full interface. The interface I can use doesn't shows anything. But it did before improvements!

So you're using an interface option that you now know to be less functional than other interface options; report it or change to one that's more functional.

Email Notification of New Private Messages:

Receive Email Notification of new Private Messages
Don't receive Email Notification of new Private Messages

The forum can send a message to your email address to inform you when someone sends you a private message.

New Private Message Notification Pop-up:

Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up
Don't show New Private Message Notification Pop-up

If you are browsing the forums when you receive a new private message, the system can pop-up a notification box informing you of the new message.

As for the interface skins, I've used all currently available skins minus the mobile one, and have seen my new message notifications just fine in each.

Whatever the case, fact of the matter remains that you are as capable of seeing the announcement threads for new competitions as they come up in the announcements forum as anyone else is regardless of what skin you're using or functionality is supposedly missing. If you miss out on competitions it's because you weren't actively looking where it mattered.

Also,
As an user with 1000+ posts it is unlikeky that I missed notification thread.

I don't think I have ever seen a 'notification' of specific threads aside from ones that were notifying of the forums going down for maintenance or the like. There have been literally hundreds of threads in the announcements section that I have never looked at that I did not receive notifications for - this includes threads for new competitions as well as winners of competitions. Had I not, of my own volition, gone to check one of the winners threads recently I likely would never have found out I'd won anything in one of them. Pay more attention, don't complain if you missed out on something because you weren't doing, and don't blame things that may have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you would have noticed, especially if those things are potentially untrue.

It is why you have no idea what you are talking about. Besides mobile interface is not just a different skin.

Really? You didn't see and you have something to say like below:

I stop responding to your allegations, however I would like to see official response to all questions raised.

Works really well on a Mac Airbook. Perhaps you should consider getting one?

So because I haven't actively used one skin, I clearly don't know what I'm talking about with regards to the other six skins currently available. You never indicated which skin you use that you have issues with, only that you have issues - ones that I have never in 6+ years using these forums encountered - on one unknown skin out of seven.

The fact of the matter remains that threads for competitions exist in the announcements thread and/or the categories to which they are relevant, usually as a sticky for the duration of the competition when not in the announcement thread. Some, though not all of them, are occasionally mentioned in the newsletters one can opt to receive. Whether or not you are aware of all of the competitions should actually boil down to how much attention you're paying, not to you being notified of each and every single chance-based competition ever hosted by the site. If you don't want to work for it, you don't deserve it. Over 1,900 people that aren't you clearly didn't have an issue finding out about this competition - that says far more than your "1k+ posts".

This goes for anyone that shares sajunky's sentiments on 'missing out' on competitions.

Once again you are confusing skin with WEB interface. Besides, it is difficult to discuss with a person who didn't even bother to look on functionality of particular interface. You didn't bother to ask which interface I use and started to accuse me of lying.

I don't lie. Fact is that mobile interface is constantly losing functionality. You don't bother to check what is broken in mobile interface every time you make cooking with the full interface. So if you ask me, I don't use 'new' mobile interface, as is awkward, it requires lot of scrolling. I use so called "old mobile" which quite recently has been broken again and doesn't give indication of private messages. Before I could use style=21, but it had been deleted.

Any official response to above issues?

'may not be true' and 'lying' are two very different things. I never expressly accused you of lying. You, on the other hand, accused me of 'clearly not knowing what I'm talking about', because out of the seven interfaces available I have used six, and I've seen PM notifications just fine on all six. The old mobile interface was included among those, though I last used it about 4-6 months ago.

If you want your official response about the forum functionality PM rpm and/or take it to the forum features discussion forum, which is where your concerns should be going.

There are the same thing, unless we are twisted...
Anyway, now it is clear what my problems are and what are your priorities, and that mobile interface conveniently named "old mobile" is constantly loosing funcionality, please tell us why you deleted style ID=21? It was the most usefull interface so far.

I tell you this: Why you don't PM rpm and explain your arrogant behaviour on this thread?

Are you assuming that I work for MyBB, or that I have anything to do with the development of its forums?

My behaviour is 'arrogant' because you're crying 'poor me' and even, essentially, claiming you're entitled to special treatment because of your "1k+ posts", and I'm telling you that you are no different from anyone else using these forums and have exactly the same tools available to you as anyone else using these forums, so your failing to enter the competition is nobody's fault but your own.

I, as another user of these forums, had no issue finding out about and entering the competition. I happened to find out about it from the newsletter seeing as I don't actively check for competitions on the forums. Had I been checking the announcements forum, just as you could do, I would probably have found out about it even sooner.

sajunkie's:
I missed out on the competition because the mobile forum skins' functionality is broken and I was not expressly informed of a competition I could enter with a fireworks display flashing over the forums, and didn't receive in a timely fashion the newsletter that indicated the competition was available. I have over 1k+ posts so there's no way I would have missed a notification, and people with high post counts should get preferential treatment despite people like nanonyous having a high post count primarily because of arguing on the internets.

mine:
Stop crying, pay more attention, stop believing the world revolves around your post count and address your concerns to the correct places.

If you frequent the forum enough, you'll know about competitions. DO you only want to log in when they email you and tell you that you can win an AirBook Mac?

You were pretending to be developmer, Your tone indicate this and attempts to take away discussion from my main points to cover developers omissions or mistakes and calling me a lier. You are telling me from the beginning what I should do. I gave you indication in my first post that I am experienced user and I don't need your advice, you take it as for my call for preferential threatment.

It looks like you want to be a winner in the next competition? You are welcome, but you need to work harder....
MyBB team keeps quiet.
