The Tapo doorbell features a 2K (2,560 x 1,440) 5MP sensor and Tapo’s Live View technology, which enabled me to always see what was happening at my front door.
 
Up to 180 days of operation off a rechargeable battery is critical for me … ain’t nobody got time to be worrying about even more batteries.
 
The D230S1 also comes with a Tapo H200 Hub, and after I set it up, it immediately communicated with the doorbell camera – ensuring my new home security system was ready to go.
 
Tapo App and smart AI detection, whats cool for me is speaking to someone remotely with my smartphone through the device. Overall, reading the article it really has some impressive features.

The included wedge, to adjust the angle of the camera, is handy.

It also doesn't seem to be hobbled by a subscription service like my Ring.
 
I like that it can do person detection, I would setup notifications based on that feature.
 
The ability to use the Tapo video doorbell camera as an intercom is a feature that I would enjoy.
 
Additionally, in the event of an event trigger I could use the Video Doorbell Camera as an intercom to speak to the person at the door through my smartphone.
 
The several Quick Response options that would play a custom voice response such as “I’ll be there in a minute” or “You are trespassing. Police have been called.” A good way to mess with unsuspecting guests.
 
5mp would be sweet on a doorbell cam and hopefully I don't need internet access to use it while at home in the same wifi lan... unlike Ring.
