Win XP hanging with USB modem

This is a realy wierd bug - If I share the modem on a Win 2k box over my home network then all is well - but if I use modem sharing on my WinXP system then as soon as there is abit of traffic from any machine on the network it hangs my system. I dont see any other threads with ppl having this problem - could it be a USB thing - i have latest MB driver etc and latest XP service packs.

If you have a Intel CPU you may have hyper threading enabled (check your bios). MW is not compatible with hyper threading so your only alternative is to turn it off.

Out of interest how is SP2 working for you?

So far so good - but I only installed it last night so may crash me bad later who knows
