Another method is to use phone compabilty mode in Internet Explorer under development tools IIRCBusy downloading the ISO directly now.
Go to the media creation tool page on your phone. You will be told that your platform doesn't support the tool and you can then select you edition. Download links to 32 and 64 bit will be created, valid for 24 hours. Copy link and email to yourself and then download the ISO directly on your pc. It shows that it is downloading version 1607.
Edited: guess in principle it will work like this on linux and mac as well..?
It works the same on XP using Chrome (IE is banned on MS site), so it is expected working the same on Linux/MAC. You can use wget (with aborted downloads) on this Web site.Busy downloading the ISO directly now.

Attachment doesn't work. It has to be on flat surface.Just back from a bite out, and here it is downloading on the Surface Pro 4:

Used this, left it downloading over night, woke up to the update installed this morning.
I will wait for the full ISO, I want to reinstall windows
