Windows 10 - Free Upgrade question

So when Win10 launched, I was one of those that got the free upgrade from a pirated copy.

<time passes>

Currently I'm running Linux on that same machine, but if I wanted to revert back to Windows 10, is there a process to recover that license? At the time there wasn't something like a CDkey or similar that they said "thanks, here you go" it just become legal.... so how do I get back to that from Linux?

Do I just download the ISO install, and when I log in with my MS account it will say "hey you, welcome back" or how now brown cow?

You install it, it will reissue whatever license it gave with that hardware in the background.

Ok

Went looking for the ISO, which one do I download.

Creators or Anniversary?
Windows 10? N? Or single language?

Can't answer your first question... whichever newest I guess

Can't remember what you had? Single Language is Home Single Language? Win10 itself will give most flavours.

Erm That never happened.

If you used Win Loader to "activate" your old Pirated Windows and used free upgrade that upgrade is to fake OEM data and not to you actual hardware.

Good point. Now I can't remember if I did that, or just freshly installed, never activated and then did the upgrade.... Hmmmm

If you logged in to your Microsoft account on that PC before you went Linux you can always check under your Account for devices and see if its listed there.

That will at least let you know what was on that PC and if its linked to the right hardware eg:

so if I logged in back then, i can see it now?

So, to answer the mystery question.

Started win10 installation. It asked for a key, said I didn't have one, and then asked me to pick between Pro and Home with, which looks like the original installation date nexr to it (20160718 or something)

I have Status on my devices before Get apps and get support, also

"To be filled by OEM" looks like a "Windows loader" screen if you ask me as even my Self build PC's have motherboard or such name's there.
You get "Support" as your license type qualifies for the support from Microsoft. OEM licenses can only get support from OEM.
