Windows 11 decreases the performance of AMD processors

Amd warns of worse performance on windows 11

So Microsoft engineers decided to build Windows 11 on an Intel testbed - in short. Gotcha.

Besides, the Microsoft patch for this is expected this month already, though by how much the situation will improve, I don't know. Really, Dx9... the performance hit would hardly hit you 'online'.

weird, I have a 5950X and I have experienced the opposite. I have gained about 10% single-thread performance.

For the first time, the scheduler is selecting the higher quality cores.

wonder if motherboard BIOS has something to do with it.

Dx9 titles?

Mostly DX12

AMD chose their wording well,

Measured and functional L3 cache latency may increase by ~3X
  • Expected performance impact of 3-5% in affected applications, 10-15% outliers possible in games commonly used for eSports.

the issue is well explained in the LTT video, but it is for the most part CSGO which is affected. I would believe that the affected application must be a handful of products, most of which are 3D accelerated I believe.

Had a bit of an issue today after upgrading my Ryzen 1700 rig to Win 11. Watch Dogs 2 started stuttering and lagging, but a quick driver update fixed it and it ran normally after a restart, so I can say that although I did not specifically measure perfornance, Win 11 feels much more responsive than Win 10.

Exactly. How did this pass beta testing?
Surely this should have been tested on the Beta release.

If I recall correctly we had the same issues with Windows Me. It ran fine on Intel's hardware but anything else was hit and (mostly) miss. XP of course Blue Screened on a lot of platforms. Who remembers Tomato Motherboards? I was a much happier techie when SP1 and SP2 were released.

I think Ill hold off on this update until the tech is mature enough not to have these kinda bugs.
