Wow, this new feature is really annoying me. I like the old share method which I set up in our homes network. My music collection goes into the thousands at the moment which is all shared. However many of them have a lock on the file indicating it was shared with Nobody - I'm guessing thats to do with homegroup. So now, no other PC's can view let alone use those files. They only solution I've found is to select the files, go Share with, then Specific people and add everyone to the list.
Heres the catch, I have to select the files as it is. I cannot select the folder which it sits in. So in order to make these songs available, I have to go through my ENTIRE music collection, find the songs that are "locked", select them, share them to everyone and repeat with the next subfolder. This is very annoying when my music is structured by Artist/Ablum/Songs.mp3.
I have tried selecting the folder, and sharing that with everyone, but that doesnt change the permissions on the files inside the folder. So thanks to MS, I either have to waste my time going through my music collection and changing each songs permissions, leave it as it is, or hope theres another way around this pathetic system. So my question is, after rambling on about my problem, is there anyway I can change the permissions from its "locked" status without selecting every individual files?
Thanks,
Sysem
