Windows icons

Hi, stupid problem but my icons on my desktop have a blue kinda block around the description parts, how do I remove it to be transparent? Cause when I have a normal screen it looks kinda crap!

From what I remember, if you're running XP, right click on the desktop and choose propoerties, the click on the tab called appearance - you should be able to change the text background colour from there (I can't remember the exact setting you have to change)

A similar process should be for Vista or Win 7.
