Live mail is cool. Way cooler and quicker then the old hotmail. nice interface and simple to use. looks like outlook express in a browser obviously with limited functionality. Wish they incorporated the awesome conversation style of gmail... but yeah... i stopped with gmail becuz i would get too many login probs.
Live Messenger aka MSN
Crap. GUI is gay... much like windows vista outdated lets rip mac aqua style from the 90's style. You know where everything has to shine like glass and reflect. I think they took what was a simple and elegant GUI and just really flashed it way to much. Even the scroll bar is GAY.
its almost clumsy like playing with duplo instead of real lego if you know what i mean. there are patches out already to get rid of the usual crap like adverts and unblocking of mp3's n stuff which was nice to know. I also would have liked an option like turn the gay features off.
why they made all the little men green and gray as opposed to the red and blue men we have grown to love and hate is beyond me. maybe a beta thing or a live thing.
Overall nothing really new compared to msn 7 except for major GUI changes.I am presuming all this will be released when Vista gets released.
interestingly enough the new MSN LIVE messenger takes up 47MB ram when open and only 10Mb ram when it sits in the system tray. MUST be that GUI...
anyway added some screenies for you guys to look. I would have taken screenies of my hotmail but there is some quesitonable **** in there.

there is also a list of people it makes in there called: non instant messaging contacts. I have no idea what this is.

Whatever you do make sure you are not wearing headphones with the volume loud and windows messenger live is running. Just when i thought it couldnt get any gayer it has the most retarded typical windows type sounds for audio alerts. For some reason it turned these on when i installed it and I almost sh@t in my pants cuz of this reverberating DING everytime a contact came online - i had my visual alert setting off so it kinda freaked me out.
