Right, I installed Win XP 64bit onto my PC and got the FarCry 64bit version onto it as well. You can't imagine the diffrence! Everything is smoother and faster. Water, plants, shadows and basically everything else. I ran everything on high, graphics I mean. My PC runs with no problem!:D

Anybody else tried a 64bit game? Whats your views?

Tried it about a couple of months ago. Instead of more birds and animals, mine all disappeared :D

mmm, i must give it a shot...

i have a copy of win 64 but i've never been bothered to install it.. but if there is such a difference then it may be worth the switch.. even if its only for one or two 64 bit apps..

do all of ur other 32bit apps run well in win64?? i do have / can get drivers for all of my hardware (except the tv card that doesnt get any use anyway)

Everything else works. I only use my 64bit Win for FarCry, hehe. All I can find that works better :D . Nobody know about other 64bit games you've tried?

there was an article about Far Cry ages ago and the verdict was do not run 64bit Windows for games as yet, too many games are not optimized for it and will even run slower if not at all!

Vista will sort things out by next year though and eventually expand the 64bit PC gaming library with proper games written to take advantage of the hardware.

now thats weird coz there was one patch that improved overall Q4 performance on dual-core CPU machines, maybe only on 32bit Windows though?

there are patches that allows you to play games that you usually cant on 64bit.
a bit too much effort if you ask me
