Man, he must be confident that the "big fix" will work...

Or maybe he knows he's going to be loosing a bunch of subscribers at the end of the month, so is hunting for more...

Ahhh reckon he is just lying to y'all.

It's seems interesting that they don't mention the 128k package at all. Methinks that they are going to blame us for their incompetence now.

meanwhile 128k is the cheapest entry to the market. For what you get it is still the cheapest internet access money can buy in SA. Looks like he is trying to get more 256 and 512 customers which isnt necessarily a bad thing. In line with the datapro approach (banking on the fact that business customers use less or dont "abuse" bandwidth) this means they could be looking to get some contention-ratio-happy clients such as SME's. As long as the buy bandwidth accordingly then thats cool. More business clients *should* effectively mean quicker speed outside of business hours at least

that is spot on

bussinesses ...
1)dont want staff browsing the web all day
2)dont allow p2p in genral scard of been caught with mp3/porn/....
3)dont allow staff to download/install software ...
4)often monitor email communication limiting it ...
5)are busy from 7-6 but peak between 9-4
6)dont allow internet gaming so dont bother with packet loss/lag
7)are used to shoddy slow service so giving them the same service for less is acceptable
8)access sites mostly concidered local ...

the bigest rule to been a succesfull ISP is have the ratio bussiness:"geeks" correct and everybody will be happy ...

sentech originaly discouraged bussiness applications and aimed all marketing at the residential dialup market.

would you trust your business to the current mywi offering? don't think so.
Also, most businesses need static IPs, in which case ISDN and Diginet are the only options.

Actually he does mention 128k, but I think this is more a marketing release to persuade more businesses to join MW on the 256k/512k packages than "we are k@k and apologize to current customers" release

This saddens me, because doesn't matter how big the problem gets, Sentech still punts their product allowing more users to sign up to a sub standard service.

Hell, my gran on a scooter with a memory stick is faster than Sentech's MyWireless!

Sentech, 99% downtime guarunteed!

What I don't understand is why they (Sentech) don't wait until the "fixes" have been done, and everyone is happy, before putting out a release like this.

'cos that means that they have to wait before they can get more money - and why would they do that?!
