Can someone help with the correct route to follow regarding the lodging of complaints against a Wireless Internet Service Provider?

Thanks for the link.
I checked, and the WISP is a member of WAPA.

We have a meeting Monday to try and resolve the difficulties that I am experiencing with the service that they are supposed to deliver.
Should the meeting not prove to be satisfactory I will name and shame them.

one has only to look at the fact they they are funded solely by WISPS, to understand who they are going to support...

But the point is that poor service from one WISP reflects badly on all other WISPs, so actually that's not quite the obvious logical leap you think it is. WAPA takes complaints from customers seriously because they have the potential to kill our industry as a whole. All WAPA members are required to comply with numerous regulations and WAPA-instituted requirements. Failure to do so means you get kicked out of WAPA, thus losing credibility as a WISP.

Hi again.
Problems with the ISP have not been sorted.
They were supposed to come to a meeting on Monday 01 August, and they never arrived for the appointment.
They also did not notify me that they would not be able to attend.

For about 2 weeks the service was good, then on Thrursday 18/08/2011 at about 8am the service goes down.
Numerous calls the their offices get no results. Cellphones keep ringing before going over to voicemail, or keep giving number busy.
A few more calls on Friday get a result that I am connecting at 2.4kbps, which a bit lower than the 1Meg line I am signed up for.

Throughout the day the service stays this slow, and regularly dropping for a few minutes, then resuming at the slow speed. (31 disconnections in 9 hours.)

I sent a quite heated SMS to one of their personnel after trying to phone him for more than 4 hours, stating that I thought their service was pathetic, and I would like to have it fixed, as I am paying for a service that I am not getting.
This morning I received a SMS back from the individual, stating that I am welcome to take my business elsewhere, as I will then have someone else to shout at.

If there is a WISP that can give me a good service, does not cost an arm and a leg, and uses the same technology as I currently have installed, they are welcome to PM me, or send me quotes via my email.

That's not true WAPA are liable to ICASA as an industry representative body & are fair towards all, I've seen them revoke membership to a memeber that treated his clients badly, I've got alot of respect for them, they do a very good job of representing wireless in South Africa & lobbying government for spectrum etc.

*waves* :) I agree about respect for WAPA. They are doing a great job of regulating the WISP industry where ICASA is completely failing (in all telecoms industries, not just wireless). If WAPA keeps up the good work, the reputation of all WISPs will improve immeasurably. We need to get rid of these fly-by-night, unlicensed, unscrupulous, unethical turds who pollute our industry. Can you tell those guys irritate me slightly?
