Hi everyone

There is a tool that that shows weather you will have line of site between two sites, its also used by the PTAWUG people.

Does anyone know what it is called and / or where I can get a copy of it?

Here is an example of it:

Is there a way I can specify my own co ordinates on that site? It didn't seem like it when I was there earlier.

No I am not a wireless ISP, it is for a friend who wants a link between two of his offices.

Custom Written WUG Software.

I guess you could add two of the points onto their system, and use it that way?

Yes, you can specify your own co ordinates on that site.

You can use MapSource as a rough guide.

Use a DEM map, In Edit-Preferences-Routing-Route Style, change from "Use Auto-Routing" to "Use Direct Routes". Pick your points, then right click-Route Properties..., under "Via Points", click "View profile".

It's not custom built like the WUG one, but it works as a rough guide. Also, you can't add a height for your antennas.

Hope it helps

Use the LigoWave Link calculator if you want to go about your own business without stepping on WUG toesies (they have been known to get snippy if you use their facilities to do your own planning that doesn't include them. Still, it IS their sandpit afterall) ...or you could have EVER so much fun and bend your head around Radio Mobile - guaranteed fun times!
