Wireless RF coax TV aerial transmitter-receiver?

Sorry to bother, but I'm trying to find a solution for an elderly person's TV.

Basically, they have a TV aerial wall plug in one room and want to place the TV in another room, with flexibility to move it elsewhere. Rather than re-run the tv aerial coax every time the TV moves, the quickest solution is to plug in a small transmitter at the tv aerial wall plug and then a small receiver at the back of the TV in the other room. But I just can't find such a device in SA.

Anyone know of a local supplier who has such a device/kit? Should use ordinary TV aerial connectors.

Thanks, marlin - appreciate your trouble! I saw it earlier and sadly it's for RCA composite video and audio, not coax RF.

I'm really looking to replace a TV coax flylead with a wireless connection.

No probs... you don't get an RCA to Coax converter perhaps?

Not a TV fundi so just putting it out there

I have several composite to RF converters. But this needs to go the other way, from RF tv coax to either composite AV or RF - with wireless between instead of cable.

Bunny ears?
:D

I need to xmit signal from a coax wall plug to a tv in another room. The coax wall plug gets its signal from an Xtraview decoder in yet another room. What the toppies need to get is DStv via coax in another room. So, wirelessly xmit an rf signal from either decoder's rf plug or from one elsewhere in house. TV doesn't do HDMI.

can the xtraview decoder not do RCA connections?

It does. But I want to get the rf signal wirelessly to a remote TV.

Basically, like an HDMI-over-wireless extender, but for RF instead of HDMI.

In other words, send a decoder rf/coax signal to another room without running a cable.

Get the wireless transmitter for RCA. Go straight from the decoder to a receiver for the TV - or does the TV not have RCA in?

If there is already a XV setup, then quite possibly, there is already an SLX splitter somewhere with a spare port available. The easiest will be to run a new cable to the additional TV point. What is driving the "wireless" requirement?

And then as has been pointed out what about remote control? Is this done with tvLINKs or with a blaster?

If you want, provide details about the decoders involved. There may be other solutions.

Extending RF TV over wireless never really took off. The better solutions would be to go for AV extension directly from the decoder iso trying to relay an already extended RF feed.

Another extension of the existing RF distribution becomes permanent and all that happens there is an extra room with a socket available. .....

Just plug in TV when required in the room.

Thanks, Geoff. It's the same as the one mentioned by marlin above (and which I found earlier today). It's a wireless AV (composite) extender, not rf tv.

However, I'm going to order one anyway, and hope it has the range. Needs to get through some thick walls.

Ja been looking for alternatives but that seems to be it. Have not found anything so far.

Any feedback on this extender? I was looking at getting one so I can watch the rugby in my lapa.
