Please go to http://hjb.webhop.net/ for a picture of what I'm talking about.
As you will see I have an ordinary - 4pc's connected to a hub with a firewall connected to the internet – setup.
My main motive for wifi is to avoid cabling. I want to setup a wifi network (802.11g). Netgear or Gigabyte looks to be the best, does anyone have any opinions on them?
A few questions spring to mind.
Do I need an Access Point or a Router on the green side to replace the hub?
Can I plug the wireless router / AP into an existing (second) NIC in the firewall or should I install a wireless card in the firewall instead?
I would like to expand a little more in the future to accommodate a printer server.
Will this influence the choice of the Router or Access point?
Where is the right place for routers and where for Access Points?
How do our Telkom pots fits into this whole "double router" setup?
Thanks in advance for your time.
