Went to Cellc on the 22nd December to get the new iPhone 5 contract.
Filled in the paperwork and was told that they were out of stock and that I must come back on the 29th to collect my phone and they would activate it for me. Fair enough.
Went back on the 29th and they had lost my paperwork and I had to fill out everything again and provide proof of address, bank statements etc. Then they told me they didn't have any nano cards! She said they would have nano cards in the new year and I must come back on the 2nd of Jan.
I called on the 2nd and was told they still didn't have any. Got told it would be there on the 7th.
Called on Monday, nothing! Then told the 9th.
Called today, same ****! Told maybe next week!!

So almost two weeks into my contract and I haven't been able to use my iPhone 5. Thanks Cellc!

I really regret getting a contract with Cellc! I'm fed up with them already! It's going to be a long two years...

I'm pretty happy with Cell C, but I would also be pissed if they screwed me around like this.

This is ridiculus. Asking to fill-up papers (2nd time), knowing they have no SIM cards. AKC must do something with these Cell C outlets, otherwise will fail.

I've also been waiting two weeks for a nano-sim from cellc. In the mean time you can cut a normal sim to a nano size, I did it myself yesterday and works perfectly.

Rather high chance of messing the sim up though, so your choice..

It is most probably poor service from the franchise owner rather than Cell C. This being said the franchise (assuming it is one) still represents the brand.

I would complain to Cell C directly and get them to fix the issue including a credit note for the duration of the contract you could not access their service.

We should really name and shame these branches that provide such bad service. I had a similarly bad experience with Cell C staff not knowing how upgrades work (Bayside mall).

Their service is very poor.
Requested a sim swap to be activated, took 3 days!

Agreed. Outlet name/place and name of attendant. With this data Cell C rep on the forum can do something.

Lesson: Make sure they have stock of everything

I don't sign for a new contract without knowing I'll get the phone immediately. That's what I did last year when I upgraded to the 4S

Sorry you are having this experience...

Try either or all of the following:
1) Call the call center and insist on speaking to a team leader or manager and make it thri problem
2) Log it on Hellow Peter
3) PM the CellC rep.

I can't even get CellC to deliver my SIM card. I signed up on the 19th of December and they said that they will deliver within 7days. They finally delivered today 3 weeks later (11 Jan) however it was the wrong size sim card for my phone. Looks like they have great contracts but the worst customer service on earth.

In the theme of this thread:

I received my nano sim, followed the website instructions to port over.

Received an sms that said wait 24 hours, which I did, and last night when I tried low and behold it didn't work, and now my cellc sim has some random number. I called their help desk but was told to call back next week.

I can just tell this is going to be a giant mess now.. just glad this is a month-to-month contract and I can just cancel if they give me grief.
