I already found a source that supports my opinion, so, as is internet tradition, my opinion is now set in stone and will never change - technology can advance and stars can become blackholes, I will always believe natural gas is less efficient. /s

On a side note, a few links did show consumption as a drawback for natural gas. However, the energy density of natural gas is higher than gasoline, so in theory it should work? I suppose there hasn't been that much $ sunk into the research and optimisation.
Seat seems to believe in NCG and have brought out a Leon in NCG:

Quoted consumption is 3.9kg - 4.3kg per 100KM..

Wish the above cost for CNG was per kg and not per litre..

If you are stuck in terrible traffic and are stationary for more than 30 seconds, switch your engine off to reduce fuel consumption when it is safe to do so.

Unless you have the start-stop function already configured form the factory don’t do this. You might be in for a treat to buy a new starter motor.

Cars that have the start-stop function have a different type of starter motor that is designed to survive many more start cycles.

Yeah and poor battery starting your car everytime
It takes a good time to recharge what you have taken out of battery to start a car each time

Yeah, my old man killed the battery in his Duster doing this.

Found this: https://www.aqua-calc.com/calculate/volume-to-weight

1litre = 0.13kg - so that would be 30-33.07liter per 100km? Sounds hectic?

I wish it were that simple as that online converter makes it seem..

Because you can compress a gas, the more you compress or pressurise it, the more gas you can fit in the same space.. then there are further fluctuations around temperature as well..

Liquid natural gas weighs around 0.43kg per litre from what I can find, so with compressed natural gas you'd be able to have a higher weight per litre..

Or, I suppose we can say that they will charge R10.50 per litre of gas. So, R10.50 per 0.13KG. Which then means R80.76 per KG? And if the quoted figures of 3.9KG per 100km is correct - then this idea is dead in the water. My conclusion here is that the whatsapp posted probably got their units wrong? And they meant to say KG instead of per litre? But used litre so as not to confuse their audience? Compare it to something that they can understand? What does gas cost per KG normally?

That convertor used compressed natural gas though. But, apparently LPG weighs around 0.51KG per litre - https://www.elgas.com.au/blog/389-lpg-conversions-kg-litres-mj-kwh-and-m3/ - I'm not sure of the difference between LPG and natural gas. Although, that relation makes more sense, but still that would be close to R20 per litre anyway. So it's not really a saving as such vs petrol.

Blegh. I studied economics, none of this science nonsense.

LOL, modern cars these days have like a split system I think, for example if your passengers are getting cold (heater) and the driver is getting hot (aircon)..... then it is possible to have both on ?
Not all cars have that
