The woman, who has not been named, is reported to be after 600,000 yen (£4,588) from Google, after claiming she suffered psychological distress as a result of her washing line being featured on the Street View function.

According to Japan's Mainichi newspaper, the woman told a court hearing in the city of Fukuoka: ‘I was overwhelmed with anxiety that I might be the target of a sex crime.

'It caused me to lose my job and I had to change my residence.

‘I could understand if it was just a picture of the outside of the apartment, but showing a person's underwear hanging outside is absolutely wrong.’

The woman claims her obsessive-compulsive disorder became worse when she saw the photo while looking for her apartment on Google.

The law suit claims she became concerned everything she was doing was being secretly recorded.

She was later fired from her job at a local hospital and moved to a new apartment.

petty world is petty...

If google can see it, so could all the people walking down the street. I hope she bankrupts herself trying to sue them

Japanese... underwear... internet... OK, they must be clean if they're on the washing line, but still, there's a terrible joke in there somewhere. :)
