Woolworths is scrapping plastic bags at these 121 stores from November

Retailer Woolworths has sent notice that 121 of its stores around South Africa will be going plastic-bag free from 9 November 2020.

yes and their PE branch in Walmer charges R7 for a paper bag told them to shove it!

Generally I think this is a good move from them.

Granted it took me 2 or 3 trips to actually actively remember to have the bags with me, but now I just keep them in the boot of my car and its all good. The R5 fabric bags that they have are pretty damned good.

Food Lovers haven't had plastic bags now for a long time and noone has died yet.


I have a ton of paper bags in my boot because I forget to take them out, lol.

But much better and stronger than the low quality plastic bags.


Not sure how the privileged woolie people are going to handle the change.
