The ship that would have become the world’s largest cruise liner has been scrapped before it ever had the chance to take its maiden voyage.

If wasting wild amounts of resources and money is your type of thing, this is the story for you.

Global Dream II was slated to carry 9,000 passengers and was built by German-Hong Kong shipbuilding firm MV Werften to the tune of nearly $US1.4 ($2) billion, according to the Daily Mail. It was nearly finished when the company went bankrupt at the start of this year.

Musk is into frivolous spending. Maybe he must bid for the ship and turn it into something. I don't know what yet.
a mobile launch platform for his Rockets, now thats something useful.
could park it next to the equator, making getting to orbit easier.

I don't think it can support the weight.

so the weight of some Rocket is More than several hundred people, Staff, Food, Diesel, Sewerage, Beds and Pools?
essentially a Small city weighs less than a Rocket?

Hard to believe, but with some clever engineering, like maybe lowering supports into the ocean floor, maybe it is possible.
I mean Oil rigs do it.

Maybe Tom Cruise can buy it. Or the Church of Scientology for their Freewind cruises.
