I go about 3-5 times a day, so that makes it 30-50 liters of drinkable water, flushed down the drain, just to pee!

Processing the waste of 30 crew a day for merchant ships is well within their capability. Cruise ships need to process the waste of over 3000 people a day. There's only so much waste storage for solids and sewage.

Ships use sea water to flush toilets. It goes into a sewage processing plant as per MARPOL regulations and can only be discharged when a certain distance from the coast after it meets a processing standard. P'ing over the side is even prohibited.
