So I decided to take the plunge and will re-sub this week when I fly back into SA.

I think my biggest concern is class at the moment. I can either level up one of my old toons (level 80 - 95 range) or roll a new toon.

My other concern is my ping when I am up north. What should I roll that will be okay to level with a 400 - 500ms ping? Opinions appreciated.

Was thinking that. Would a pet class be better or any caster? I do like the idea of a HoT druid again (the good old days when droods were druids) spamming HoTs all over the show and sitting back and thinking 'I'm an awesome healer!'

Without our artifact weapons, we are pretty much 'broken'.

Personally, my main will be a destro warlock. Alts are druid and a mage. May be Shaman as well.

I used WTFfast and Battleping when I lived in SA. Put my ping into the green, but only just - from 330+ms down to about 200ms. Of course, being in the UK now won't be as much of a problem - I'll probably have about 10ms. First World problems...

I run on Vox ADSL only, and my pings are 210-220ms

Why do feral/guardian get dagger/claw artifacts respectively... I thought dr00ds were big 2h users

Mucked around with so many Feral talent combos over the weekend that I'm no longer sure what actually synergises

Soul of the Forest + Savage Roar + Bloodtalons is as far as I've gotten while dropping Ferocious Bite from my rotation

Any range would be good at those latencies. Even hunter with only instant casts is OK. I ran around with 280ms the weekend and were topping the PVP boards in all the battle grounds I was in. Would probably not be close to the top in raiding, but that is not really my aim at the moment.
Shadow priest also copes well with the latency, and my arcane mage also felt good.
Healer? Well I would say stay away from holy paladin, but rest should be ok. I could hardly heal myself as paladin since 7.0.3...

If you buy Legion you get a character 100 boost, so depend on how long you are planning to play, it could help. But the amount of exp required from 90-100 have been reduced anyway so within a few days you can get to 100.

Lowering your latency? Pretty much all the ISP's have some form of latency reduction for gaming build in now, so I doubt you will get much better with a 3rd party program. 400-500 get a booster for your 3G perhaps?

I logged onto battle net and see my druid is at 96 when I last played and I have one or two others floating around the early 90's.

My latency at home is probably around 180 or so but I want to play whilst I am up here at work since I spend more time at work. The best effort ISP in this remote part of Zambia seems to net me around 500ms (it's a 1024k connection and the best around these parts). It's stable at least. I do not think gaming is a priority for them but I'll phone and ask them.

MTN up here is faster / quicker but there are frequent time outs (So much for there 4G / LTE ads up here).

Anyways, I'll resub and be on from around Thursday. Now to find a nice friendly guild that will take an 'ou toppie'

Yaarrrr that be me Nice to see some familiar nicknames still lurking around here.
Rambozo on EU realms is parked yes, and when I moved to NZ, I had to re-roll on the US / Pacific realms to enjoy the delicious 23 ms... BUT there is a new Rambozo (same toon name) on the US realms, still a hunter yes... love the class. Never really stopped playing, only calmed down on the raiding for realm 1st guilds and serious progression guilds. Just took to much commitment and time to raid 3 /4 nights a week. Been in a few runs with some serious killer guilds ... but with the rise of the casual playstyle, its possible to join a Heroic / Mythic run and kill only the boss you want loot from. No more attunement etc. required.

MM hunter is currently pretty badly broken, so I am gonna hang low profile and wait for legion before the builds start working again.
Feels weird staring at a UI with pretty much 3 abilities. Feels so empty ! Dont think i will ever be a traitor hunter to play melee spec, so survival is not an option for me... even at 23 Ms ;-)

I think you repeated yourself with the 23 ms... If you wanted to make me jealous you most certainly succeeded
Just go BM hunter, it is quite fun at the moment. And people are still ignoring pets in PVP, even though your pet kills them pretty fast.

I'm thinking of using my resto druid as my main for Legion. I enjoy healing a lot more than DPS with my Unholy DK.

My pings sit around 160ms and I'm based in Cape Town and am using Crystal Web. Definitely offers the best pings in gaming.

Luckily not completely broken, but defo not in a great spot without the Artifact weapon & level 110.
I'm just doing a few Timeless or whatever dungeons with druid and then and leveling alts.

Do you receive the 'Swirling Vial' each Timewalking reset or just once off?

I guess I could farm up the remaining 4400 currency needed for the mount casually over the next few weeks...at least until the Invasion event begins

No idea. I can't say I care for the currency. The 500 you get from the 1st one is enough to buy the quick gear for fresh alts.
The mount you can buy is fugly, I'll much rather hope to be lucky enough and get the one that drop from bosses (Reins of the Infinite Timereaver)

I laughed throughout that boss fight ... half the raid was shut out and we still downed it. But the raid leader on vent made me almost wet my pants. That high pitched screaming ... :crylaugh:

The mount might be fugly... but it's a mount I do not own :twisted:

EDIT: Infinite Timereaver will take between 3-5k boss kills while Timewalking on average :erm:
